Timothy has wide experience in town and country planning; compulsory purchase; parliamentary and environmental work; transport and works; environmental works and statutory agreements. He has particular expertise in complex planning gain negotiations, statutory procedures and shaping environmental statements and evidence on contentious projects.

Timothy has key involvement in some of the country's largest and most complex urban regeneration and environmentally-related projects and enjoys a reputation as one of the leading commentators on planning compulsory purchase and compulsory purchase law.

Timothy is a member of the United Kingdom Environmental Law Association; the International Bar Association Committee on International Environmental Law; the City of London Law Society Planning and Environmental Law Committee; the United Kingdom Environmental Law Association; and the Society of Advanced Legal Studies Planning and Environmental Law Reform Group. He is also a member of the Planning and Environmental Committee of the British Property Federation (BPF), and the representative of the BPF and CBI for the purposes of negotiations with the Department of Transport on the review of the Department's procedure and documentation regarding Developer's Contributions towards Highway Works.
