Dennis Rosenthal

Dennis is a recognised expert in consumer credit law and is the leader of BLP’s consumer finance practice (which is ranked number 1 in the UK by Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession). He has been advising in this field for many years and is long-term legal advisor to the Consumer Credit Trade Association. He advises banks, finance companies, leasing companies, credit card and pre-paid card-issuers and building societies generally and on standard form and bespoke agreements, retail banking, data protection, fraud prevention and regulatory issues.

Dennis has been responsible for developing a range of innovative products including the first offset mortgage, the first unit trust mortgage, the first regulated drawdown mortgage, the “Together Mortgage”, a cheque book credit account, a secured credit card account, the “Tandem” credit card and savings account and various multiple agreements.

Dennis is an assistant editor of Goode: Consumer Credit Law and Practice and Goode: Consumer Credit Reports; author of Consumer Credit Law and Practice (Tottel Publishing) and Financial Advertising and Marketing Law; a contributor to “Consumer Credit” in The Encyclopaedia of Forms and Precedents and in Halsbury’s Laws of England.
