International Arbitration

Arbitration is recognised as an increasingly important method of resolving disputes with an international dimension. Parties from different jurisdictions may be reluctant to agree to litigate in the home courts of the other party or may see the enforcement regime available in relation to international arbitration awards as an advantage over that available for enforcement of court judgments. Often the preferred option in international business, the use of arbitration can give rise to a number of important issues and choices at various stages of the process upon which specialist advice is needed.

We are regularly involved in international arbitrations involving parties from many different jurisdictions conducted under a variety of institutional and ad hoc rules (including LCIA, ICC and UNCITRAL) and in a variety of venues. We are experienced in working as part of a team with foreign clients and their advisers. We can manage the entire process or, where this is more appropriate or cost-effective, we can provide support and assistance to foreign lawyers conducting arbitration proceedings in London.
