Contentious IP
We handle all forms of IP litigation and have a particularly strong reputation in copyright, design right and trade mark disputes. We resolve most of our cases through negotiation and other alternative dispute resolution processes, but have considerable experience in handling proceedings in the UK Courts as well as taking cases to the European Court of Justice. We also deal with privacy and defamation cases.
Non-Contentious IP
We deal with the structuring, ownership, licensing and management of IP rights to enable owners to exploit the commercial value of these rights. We undertake due diligence investigations in corporate acquisitions and disposals, audits of IP portfolios and provide strategic advice on the re-structuring of IP rights. We also negotiate and draft the IP elements of transactional documents including licences, assignments, sale and purchase agreements and disclosure letters.
Trade Marks, Designs and Domain Names
Our trade mark and designs team consists of trade mark attorneys and solicitors who are experts in UK and Community law and practice, offering a one-stop-shop for brand management and protection. In addition to filing trade mark and design applications around the world we conduct national and international trade mark and registered design clearance searches, provide advice on disputes and opposition, and manage international trade mark and registered design portfolios.
