Our Energy practice advises large integrated energy majors, sponsors, lenders, contractors and governments domestically and internationally. The cross discipline practice represents clients across the full spectrum of energy matters including oil and gas, (including LNG), renewables, nuclear, water, electricity, mining and minerals, power and petrochemicals.  A number of the team are highly ranked in the leading journals and Practice Head Mark Saunders has been included as one of the world’s leading 20 Practitioners in Euromoney’s ‘Best of the Best’ Guide to private practice energy lawyers in each year of its publication.  Members of the practice have advised on transactions in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Americas.

Our clients include Suez Energy International, International Power, the Government of the Sultanate of Oman, Scottish Power, Snamprogetti, Hellenic Petroleum SA, Dragon LNG, Total, Occidental Petroleum, OMV, Premier Oil, Anadarko, Delta Oil, BG Group, Petroplus, IHC Caland N.V./Single Buoy Moorings Inc., United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority and Oil Spill Response and East Asia Response Limited a collective of over 30 of the world’s major energy concerns.  We also act for a number of clients who support the energy industry such as drilling rig providers and pipeline inspection companies.

We provide an integrated service to energy and infrastructure projects, including all aspects of development, financing (whether by commercial bank lending - including project finance - bond or capital markets or Islamic financing), engineering and construction, procurement and regulatory matters affecting projects and energy companies Our range of services includes drafting, negotiating and advising on all documentation (commercial contracts as well as financing documents), advising on the acquisition, merger and transfer of interests in assets and companies, advising on restructuring of markets and on regulatory matters and advising on all related legal matters such as competition law, EPC and O&M arrangements, corporate and tax law, environmental law, real estate and planning as well as arbitration and dispute resolution.  The Project Finance team was also voted Project Finance Team of the Year 2005 by Legal Business.
