Work in Charities

Powers and duties of trustees

We advise trustees of charities on their powers and duties and the regulatory frameworks within which they operate and keep them up to date with proposed changes and developments.

SORP Compliance for charities

The new Charities SORP 2000 (statement of recommended practice) came into effect on 1 January 2001 and is applicable to all accounting periods starting on or after that date.  We advise our clients on how best to comply.

Fundraising Ventures

We advise on all aspects of fundraising ventures, including tax issues, whether undertaken by charities or their subsidiary companies, commercial participators or professional fundraisers.

Setting up and registering charities

We advise on setting up new charities, obtaining charitable status and the registration process.  We deal with both the establishment and maintenance of both grant-making and functional charities.
